A hospital [laboratory](https://info.array-architects.com/centralized-laboratory-services-case-study) is one department which is relied upon by almost every other department throughout the facility. There is often no time for downtime, which results in complicated construction phasing when it is time for renovation.

A thorough knowledge of the interrelated sub departments and how they interact is imperative. My time spent as a lab tech provided that inate understanding of how important the physical location of the pathology area is to the efficiency of the histology staff.
